DAY 16: Final Departure

DAY 1: Arrival Kathmandu (1,300m above sea level)
On arrival to the Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will welcome you and accompany you to your Hotel. Then you will be briefed about the full itinerary and you will have a possibility to meet with your trekking guide. You can clear all your doubts and then relax and take proper rest for the next day.

DAY 2: Leisure Day in Kathmandu
This is a leisure day in Kathmandu so that you will get to know the city well. You can also take this day to relax and prepare yourself for the trekking, which will begin from the next day. The trek is a bit challenging thus you will require proper rest and preparation. You can also go on a full or a half day sightseeing around the valley on this day. The sightseeing will include most of the World Heritage sites located near Kathmandu such as: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Patan Durbar Square and so on.

DAY 3: Fly to Lukla (2,800m) and Trek to Pakhding (2,652m) trekking time: 4 hours
Early in the morning, after breakfast youwill be escortedtoward the domestic airport for your flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the flight time is almost 40 minutes. Although it is a short flight, there are chances that the flight might get delayed depending on the weather condition. However the flight is very pleasant and offers a beautiful view throughout the flight. On reaching Lukla you will have time to take relax, gathered your energy and prepare for the trek. From this moment on wards, your trek toward the Everest Base Camp begins. You will trek towards Pakhding. It is a short and not so challenging hike. On reaching Pakhding you will have enough time to relax and get use to the new surroundings. You will be spending rest of the day and night in Pakhding itself.

DAY 4: Trek to Namche (3,440m) – 6 hours
After breakfast we will start our trek. Today our destination isNamche. Walking through a beautiful pine forest and after crossing a number of suspension bridges the track leads us along the DudhKoshi River.The walk is very pleasant with magnificent views of Thermasarkhu (6,608m).Through the settlement of Benkar, Chumoa, Monjo, we come to the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. A short descent to the Jorsaleand Village and the trail will lead us towards Namche Bazaar. The walk is pleasant along the riverbed and then followed by winding uphill path, with the first sight of Mt. Everest peering over the Lhotse Nuptseridge; a short hike will leads us to our destination of the day,Namche Bazaar, the gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading center of Khumbu region. We will stay the night at Namche Bazaar.

DAY 5: Acclimatization in Namche
Today is the rest day or we would call it an acclimatization day as this day is to make you accustom to the new surroundings. This day is necessary to make your body used to of the new altitude. On this day we will have a short hiking sessionto the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarter, a magnificent spot perched on top of Namche Bazaar with breathtaking view of the surrounding snowcapped giants and the valleys below. We will also visit the Sagarmatha Museum and gain some knowledge about the history of the Himalayas, geography, culture, mountaineering, flora and fauna of this region and many more.We will spend the night in Namche itself and prepare for the next day.

DAY 6: Trek to Tyangboche (3,867m) – 5 hours
After breakfast we continue towards Tengboche, our destination for the day. Enjoying outstanding views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. AmaDablam and close up view of Thamserku, our trek follows a fluctuating trail with few ups and downs. With the magnificent view of the Himalayas never leaving our company, we gradually decend to Kayangjuma and eventually reach Sansa, which is a major trail junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp, if fortunate we will spot some musk deer, a herd of Himalayan Thar and multicolored pheasantson our way. The route then passes through the pine forests and after crossing the prayer flags festooned bridge over the DudhKoshi River, we reach PhunkiThenga. From this point we would gear up for a slightly challenging climb through the pine forests which will leads us to our destination Tengboche; from where we will be able to have a close up view of Mt AmaDablam, Mt Nuptse, and Mt Everest, and also visit the biggest Buddhist Monastery of the Khumbu region. We will spend rest of the night at Tengboche.

DAY 7: Trek to Dingboche (4,360m) - 6 hours
On this day we will ascend towards Dingboche. After passing through several Chortensand Mani walls and small villages we will cross a suspension bridge over ImjaKhola and gradually ascend to Pengboche with a fantastic towering view of AmaDablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in Everest region. Trail continues along Imja Valley entrance gradually unfolding the confluence of the Lobuche River. We descend into the river and ascend up to Dingboche. On arrival at Dingboche, we will see beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls to protect barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. We will spend rest of our time here for the day.

DAY 8: Acclimatization Dingboche
Today is another acclimatization day. On this day we will explore around the Dingboche area and gather some local experience. We will go on a short hike to the north of the valley to have a better view of the spectacular Mt AmaDablam, Mt Lhotse and numerous other peaks visible from Dingboche. On this day we will be able to have a scenic view of three of the worlds six highest peaks, Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu and Mt Cho Yu. This day will be an idel acclimatization day with a lot of things to explore and see. We will spend the night in Dingboche itself.

DAY 9: Trek to Lobuche (4,940 m) - 5 hours
After breakfast, we start our trekking towards Lobuche. Initially the walk is very pleasant as we walk through the peaceful Yak grazing yields with constant views of Tawache peak & Cholatse. After crossing the wooden bridge the trail leads to the Khumbu Glacier with impressive views of Khumbutse (6,623m), Lingtren (6,697m), Pumori (7,145m) and Mahalangur Himal. Another hour’s walk up the stream and we reach Lobuche. We will spend the night in Lobuche.


DAY 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp via Gorak Shep (5,160 m) – 7 hours
Today is the most exciting day of our trek. On this day we would be fulfilling the ultimate reason for our trek, Everest Base Camp is our destination for the day. Our trail passes through Gorak Shep through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier from where the crest of north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc is visible. A small ascent would take us to Thangma Riju from where we perceive a panoramic vista of snowy mountains. A steeply climb to the top through the torrent of Changri Glacier, we catch our first glimpse of Kala Patthar. As we reach Gorak Shep, we find snow-capped mountains all around us including the top of the world - Mt. Everest. Continuing straight ahead, after crossing the Indian army mountaineers memorials we will fulfill our purpose of the trek as we reach Everest Base Camp.We will decend to Gorak Shep as we wil be spending the night at Gorak Shep.


DAY 11: Trek to Pheriche(4,280m) via Kallapatthar (5,545 m) - 8 hours

Waking up before dawn we begin our journey towards Kalapatthar. The walk is quite demanding, however it is worth all the challenges. On reaching the top rim of Kalapattha we will be awestruck by the spectacular view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Lho-la. Watching the sunrise over Everest is one of the most extraordinary highlights of this trek. As the raising suns rays strike the snow capped mountains the resulting scenery is indescribable. The view of Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier is equally superb. Spending a wonderful time here we will descending we continue walk to Pheriche.


DAY 12: Pheriche  to tengboche 3860m) – 6 hours
As we follow the main Everest trail we decend to cross Khumbu stream. Passing through the villages of Tsuro Wog, Orsho, Shomare and reach Pangboche at the base of Ama Dablam, we cross the bridge over Imja Khola and pass through the Deboche village and reach Tengboche. From Tengboche, a steep descent leads to the Dudh Koshi River. We cross the first bridge over Dudh Koshi on our return trip at Phunki Tenga. Further, we pass the village of Tashinga and Sansa and finally we reach the beautiful village of Kyangjuma and we will spend rest of the night here.


DAY 13: Tengboche to Namche (3440m) 4-5 hours
Clinging through the steep wooded slope beyond Kyangjuma and winding through several bends we would reach Namche. We have enough time in Namche to shop and relax. A steep descent from Namche Hill we reach the suspension bridge crossing the Dudh Kosi River near the confluence of the Dhudh Koshi and the Bhote Koshi Rivers. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River twice at separate locations and passing through the Sagarmatha National Park we reach Monjo Valley.


DAY 14: Namche to Lukla – 5/ 6 hours

Today is our last day of the trek; we enjoy the last walk at lower altitude in the Everest region. We further enjoy a combination of open plains, rhododendron and pine forests, and in the distant background Kwangde peak. We walk through the Sherpa villages, cross the Dhud Koshi River three times through and Thado Koshi once. The final ascent from Chheplung takes us to Lukla. We will relax and enjoy our last night in the Khubu region recalling the wonderful experience and memories that we gathered in these few days. As we spend our last night in Lukla we prepare to fly back to Kathmandu tomorrow.


DAY 15: Lukla to Kathmandu and farewell dinner.
After all the fun, excitement, challenge and adventure we will return back to Kathmandu on this day. We will board the early morning flight to Kathmandu and as the flight lands we will be able to see the crowded city. We can rest and relax throughout the day at hotel. You can also go shopping on this day as it will probably be your last day in Kathmandu. You can also take some souvenirs for your family and friends or a token of memory for yourself.


DAY 16: Final Departure
This is the day we bid you good bye. Our representatives will escort you to the International Airport for your onward journey. Hoping that you have as fun and as excitement as we did and anticipating to get the opportunity to organize another trek for you, we wish you farewell and safe journey.
